Patients with psoriasis or dermatitis often need to use multiple products to keep their skin in check. But not all of these products are optimised for your particular condition.

Pharmacists have compounded creams and lotions for centuries. This age-old art of preparing medicines has come a long way since the early apothecaries. We now have specialty compounded formulas for skin conditions including eczema, dermatitis, acne, psoriasis, lichen planus, seborrheic dermatitis, keratosis pilaris and many more.

It’s all about the base…..Combining different medications, such as a corticosteroid and an antibiotic in the one cream can make life so much easier. Our compounding pharmacists have expert knowledge to get the most out of these active ingredients and to make sure they can all go together in one cream. Personalisation of your product can even be as specific as deciding which base to use, a thick protective one or a base that absorbs in quickly and leaves the skin feeling smooth.

Common active ingredients used in creams for inflammatory skin conditions include salicylic acid, lactic acid, glycolic acid, tacrolimus, clobetasol propionate, LPC (liquid coal tar), erythromycin and mupirocin.

Common active ingredients used for hyperpigmentation include hydroquinone, tretinoin, kojic acid, ascorbic acid and niacinamide.

Skin conditions we’d love to help you with:

  • Hyperpigmentation (dark spots on the skin)
  • Inflammatory skin conditions (eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis)
  • Rosacea
  • Hair loss
  • Resistant warts
  • Acne
  • Anal fissures and haemorrhoids
  • Wounds and scars
  • Keratosis pilaris
